On this page, we will share the types of trips we are planning for the near- future and also some for the bit more distant-future.
Tell us where in the universe you would like to ski in the future! We are happy to help build a trip to your dream skiing destination for you and your friends. And the crucial thing is, if there are too few of you for a reasonably priced trip, with Powder Universe’s assistance, we can likely find other participants to make the journey more affordable.
Below are examples of Powder Universe’s near-future trips:
Women's Ski Week: A ski touring and powder skiing week exclusively for Ladies in a cozy resort in the Alps, guided by internationally recognized (UIAGM) female mountain guides.
Helicopter-assisted ski touring week on Greenland's west coast.
Japan's Haute Route ski tour: Just like in the Alps, touring and skiing from point A to point B is done in Japan, too. The most popular area for this is around Hakuba and Myoko, where there are mountain huts available for accommodation. Some of our clients have expressed interest in this trip, so if it piques your interest, let us know. The timeframe is usually in April or early May, depending on the chosen route. After the tour, on the return journey to Tokyo, there's also an opportunity to skin up to Japan's highest peak, Mount Fuji, and ski down from there. It's an amazing descent with Tokyo and the sea visible below.
Albania ski touring / cat skiing / heli skiing trips: There are no ski lifts in Albania, but it boasts stunning and rugged mountains, Central Europe's lowest-lying glaciers, and ample snowfall.
Surf & Ski in Switzerland, Verbier & Sion: In 2021, Sion, the capital of Valais Canton, introduced mainland Europe's first artificial wave surfing center. In March, you can easily combine guaranteed excellent surfing with nearly guaranteed great powder skiing on the same day.
Below are examples of Powder Universe’s distant-future trips:
Introduction to Off-Piste Skiing in Paloheinä (a land fill hill in Northern Helsinki) - a ski touring week. Powder Universe’s founder, Pette Halme, has lived near this massive hill for many years and knows the off-piste areas better than the back of his own hand. For our non-finish friends we would like to point out that the vertical drops on this mountain “massive” are around 25 - 40 meters.
Rocket Skiing Trip to Pluto: The planet Pluto is the best skiing destination in our solar system! It features mountains with elevation differences of around 5 kilometers. During colder times, snow falls on the planet's surface ("Pluto becomes much colder during the part of each year when it is traveling far away from the Sun. During this time, the bulk of the planet's atmosphere may freeze and fall as snow to the surface." - NASA Solar System Exploration.)
And the best part is, Pluto's gravity is only about one-tenth of Earth's gravity. So, skiing on Pluto makes jumping dozens of meters easy and safe! We are now accepting pre-registrations!
